TED LEWELLEN, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Richmond, received his B.A. from Alaska Methodist University, his M.A. from New York University, and his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. He has done field work in Peru and Nicaragua and is the author of Peasants in Transition: the Changing Economy of the Peruvian Aymara (Westview, 1978),Political Anthropology, 2nd Edition (Bergin and Garvey,1992), Dependency and Development: Introduction to the Third World (Bergin and Garvey, 1995), and about 20 professional articles. He is presently writing a book on Anthropology and Globalization.
