Journal 1- It is a warm and pleasant day. I really want to go to war ,against the German Hessians for my self and for my country. I askedmy father while I was cleaning his musket if I could fight for mycountry , he said no because I was too young. I don t care I said tomyself I m gonna run out early morning and enlist in a platoon for theAmericans. I m only about fourteen years old but I m still a man. Journal 2- Walking out the house in the middle of the night was wrong ,but I have to fight for my country and not let any hessian try to takeover our town. I went to enlist I got my musket and got with myfellow soldiers. The town bells rang twice which ment it is time for the war and the enemy s are coming. We walked in the rain hearingmuskets and cannons going off. My platoon have left me now I don t know where to go. I saw 2 or 3 hessians coming so I ran into thewoods. The past by but I moved and they heard me so the made mesurrender. Journal 3- We walked so much that we had to rest in a cabin we saw.We went in and no one was there. so we just rested. After the hessians slept I found this little kid on the other side of the cabin. He looked stunned he wouldn t talk at all, out the window he pointed his dead parents killed by hessians. This kid and I went out slowly but I picked up my loaded musket and pointed it at a hessian while he wassleeping , however I didn t have the guts to shoot the Man. snuck out ,and walked till I found my platoon. One person in my platoon knew French , so I asked him to speak it , the kid understood , and told him what happened. I told them about the hessians in the cabins so we all went back and surrounded the place and we shot a killed them.
